Putting
the Pieces Together with Care…
Family
Service and Community Based Collaboratives were initiated in 1993.
The focus was on encouraging organizations within communities
to cooperate and collaborate in order to better the lives of
Minnesota's children and families. From this
legislation, and a community spirit that believed we could
accomplish more working together, the Anoka County Children
and Family Council was established in 1994. It is
made up of representatives from Anoka County, Anoka County
Community Action Program, community agencies, parents, and the
local school districts of Anoka-Hennepin, Centennial, Columbia
Heights, Fridley, St. Francis, Spring Lake Park, and Forest
Lake. The Council uses a joint powers agreement to share
resources and knowledge. We also share a vision of
providing prevention and intervention services for area
families in the most effective and efficient ways.
